cogniq.in is run by Cogniq Works Private Limited, #3706, Hill Road, Ambala Cantt 133001, Haryana, India (“Cogniq”, “we”, “us”).

What we collect

When you contact us by form, email, phone or WhatsApp, we collect your name, contact details, business name, country and message.

When you visit the website, our server records basic technical data such as your IP address, browser and the pages you visit, to keep the site running and secure. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics also collects approximate location (city-level based on IP address, without precise GPS tracking), device category (such as desktop, mobile or tablet), browser type and information about how you use the site (see Cookies below).

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • Replying to enquiries, sending proposals and working with clients: our legitimate interest in running our business, or to take steps towards a contract you ask for.
  • Keeping the site and contact form secure: our legitimate interest in protecting the site from abuse.
  • Analytics: your consent, given through the cookie banner. You can withdraw it at any time.

We do not sell or rent your data.

Sharing

We share data only with service providers who help us run the business, or where the law requires it. These include our website host, our email provider, and Google (Google Analytics, reCAPTCHA and, if you choose to load it, Google Maps).

Some of these providers store data outside India, the UK and the EEA. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards they offer, such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiry details: up to 2 years.
  • Client records: as long as tax and company law requires.
  • Google Analytics data: 14 months from your last visit, after which Google deletes it.

Your rights

You can ask us to see, correct or delete your data, or withdraw your consent, at any time. Write to the Grievance Officer below.

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you can also complain to your local data protection authority, such as the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and local storage in three groups. Only strictly necessary cookies are set until you make a choice in the cookie banner.

Strictly necessary (always on)

  • PHPSESSID and security tokens: protect the contact form against forgery and keep administrators signed in.
  • cogniq_cookie_consent: remembers your cookie choice for 180 days.
  • Google reCAPTCHA: protects the contact form from spam and automated abuse.

Functional (only if you allow them)

  • Google Maps: our location map on the Contact page loads only if you enable external media.
  • Vimeo: The background video on the home page is played through Vimeo with tracking turned off.

Analytics (only if you accept)

  • Google Analytics 4 (_ga and _ga_6P1XP724N3 cookies, kept for up to 2 years): tells us which pages people visit, how they arrive and roughly which country they are in, so we can improve the site. We do not use it to identify you, and we have not turned on Google's advertising features.

Marketing

We do not currently use advertising or retargeting cookies. If we add them, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through in the website footer.

Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top.
